Experiments with glass and wood

I was working on a geometric stained panel following a cosmology class I took at the Kings Foundation of Traditional Arts.

I was finding that lead was sometimes limiting what I could achieve. I wanted to try to use wood instead.

Not being a carpenter I decided to try laser cutting on wood to create my 'lead lines' . With this method, it was possible to create finer details and to use a less dangerous material. Although it is not traditional to use wood in the UK, if you go to the middle east many carved wooden windows are glazed.

More to follow when it calms down a bit!
